The apocalypse is a tough atmosphere for someone trying to make a living by telling jokes, but Mr. Havlek has never doubted his ability. He says "I don't like to brag..." quite a bit, but anyone who knows him soon realizes that he is extremely confident (to the point of being over-confident and even cocky, some say). He drinks a bit, and smokes the reefer a bit more... but whether he is sober or not, those around him are astonished by the insight Adolf has to offer on any given situation. No, I'm not talking about the stereotypical stoner talk of "aliens and spaceships, etc... I'm talking about honest, down-to-earth communication.
Adolf is a listener, a joke-maker; he tries to ease every situation with his dry humor and charming smile. Sometimes it works. and sometimes it annoys people. Either way, he doesn't care what people think. He certainly does have a "fuck the world" cynical type of attitude, but he doesn't show it unless he feels he has to.
He could be a bit more productive though, as he does spend the majority of his time drinking or smoking.
